EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAY- NOT JUST ONE DAY

Appreciate everything your associates do for the business. Nothing else can quite substitute for a few well-chosen, well-timed, sincere words of praise. They’re absolutely free and worth a fortune.’ – Sam Walton

Employee Appreciation Day is celebrated on the first Friday of March worldwide. It is a day to strengthen ties between employees and employers. Appreciation is one of the concepts of recognition of someone’s skills and efforts. It promotes a positive environment and a feeling of well-being. The employees who are appreciated tend to work more happily and take time to understand their work and how they can improve their efforts towards the business.

Acknowledging and appreciating the employees is a great concept but it should be an ongoing process. It encourages the employees and gives a feeling of being valued and respected which in turn enhances employees’ productivity and confidence.

Some benefits of Employee Recognition:

  • Increased productivity and engagement.

  • Decreased employee turnover.

  • Greater employee satisfaction and enjoyment of work.

  • Improved team culture.

  • Higher loyalty and satisfaction scores from customers.

  • Increased retention of quality employees.

  • Decreased stress and absenteeism.

  • Positive work environment.

A simple compliment to an employee can boost their morale and confidence which inspires the team members to work better. When employees are recognized and appreciated, they grow more and experiment with new things which can be beneficial for the business.

Few ways of showing Employee Recognition:

1. A simple Thankyou can be proved as a great gesture to appreciate the employee and the efforts they put towards the company. It will make them feel valued.

2. A short handmade sticky note can be used to express gratitude towards the efforts and time they provide to the company.

3. Give them a gift of time. Provide them a short trip or break with their family so that they can come back with a refreshed mind and focus on their work properly.

4. Informal recognition can be given to employees such as a small get-together party or lunch on achieving a milestone or accomplishing any goals. This will make them feel appreciated and give them the confidence to work harder.

Make this Employee Appreciation Day most memorable for your employees and keep this practice as an ongoing process for better performance and improved teamwork!
