Goodness of Beetroot
Beetroot and it's Goodness is known to all of Us! But Besides being rich in essential nutrients it's a great source of fiber, folate (vitamin B9), manganese, potassium, iron, and vitamin C.
Beetroots have been associated with numerous vital health benefits, which include improved blood flow as it contains nitrates and pigments, lowering blood pressure, and increases in exercise and athletic performance.
Though many a times children and even adults don't feel like eating beetroots though knowing it's health benefits! So what we can do is we can make it more appealing by adding it with a twist!!
There are various ways in which we can incorporate beetroots in our day to day life which we are unaware of. So here's what we need to do!
We can directly intake it in various Forms:-
👉Salads or making a salad chaat (tossing it with Lemon juice, black pepper and chaat masala) which can be more appealing to kids & adults too..
👉Beetroot Juice can be more appealing by adding a 1 teaspoon of lemon juice,ginger (& grind well in a mixer) Ready to serve!
👉 Beetroot Soup can be enhanced by adding tomatoes & carrot to eat and serve hot!
👉 Beetroot Paratha is one of the easy to make dish for breakfast & easily carried in the tiffin for kids & if eaten with curd it's the best combination.
👉 Veggie Beetroot: The combination of beetroot with any vegetables gives altogether a different flavor and texture too and it tastes just amazing; a complete package of nutrients in a bowl. For Example:- Gobhi ki sabji with beetroot, carrots, capsicum, onions and tomatoes makes gobhi yummy. Similarly, If bitter gourd is prepared including similar vegetables where the beetroot plays supporting role to Bitter gourd & helps in enhancing its taste beyond our imagination.
👉 Beetroot Rice: While making pulao add beetroot and in addition to it carrot,onion, tomato, capsicum, cashew, raisins, almond & even corns, it tastes amazing 😍
So here is one recipe by which one can incorporate it in the day to day schedule.
Veggie rice with goodness of beetroot
Ingredients: Cooked Rice, Grated Beetroot, carrot, onion, tomato, cauliflower
For Garnishing:- Cashew, raisin , almond, saffron
👉 Cooked Rice
👉 Chopped Onion,Tomato
👉 Grated Carrot and Beetroot
👉 Cut the Cauliflower into uniform pieces
👉Take a Kadai and add 1 teaspoon Ghee to it.
👉Add spices jeera and chopped Onion, grated carrot and beetroot and cut Cauliflower and then add salt to it. [Note: Salt to taste.]
👉 Once the vegetables are cooked. Add cooked Rice to it and saute well.
👉Once completely cooked serve it hot by garnishing it with cashew, raisin, almond and 2-3 threads of saffron.
Here's this simple easy to prepare and cook & its ready... Best Recipe for Kids' Lunch box & can also be served in any meal (lunch or dinner) & am sure not only adults but the little ones will also love it too. This Beetroot recipe is one of my personal favorite.The color of the beetroot gives the beautiful color and texture to the rice.
